According to the news department of the Ussuriysk Customs of Russia, about 36,000 cars were cleared at the border ports between the Russian Far East and China from January to March 2023, with the daily traffic of cars increasing by about 0.5 times compared to the same period last year.

In the first quarter of 2022, an average of 286 cars passed through the border ports each day, while in the first quarter of 2023, the number increased to 424 cars. In addition, the number of cars cleared at the Krasnokamensk, Tury Rog, Pogranichny, and Portovaya ports increased by 87%, 58%, 50%, and 24%, respectively.

According to the Russian Ministry of Transport, the Pokrovka-Raohe freight port on the Russian-Chinese land route and the Amurzet and Xialiningkuo ports on the Russian side will resume customs clearance on May 5th and May 10th, respectively, and the Xialiningkuo port will switch to 24-hour clearance.
In the first quarter, the cargo turnover of the Russia-Khabarovsk-China Raohe Port doubled to more than 4,000 tons, and the throughput of the ferry is currently 25 vehicles per day.
The transit ports of the Russian Primorsky Territory were busy in the first quarter
According to news from the Far East Branch of the Russian Customs Bureau, automobile transit ports between the Russian Primorsky Territory and China are much busier than before.
In the first quarter of 2023, a total of 36,000 vehicle clearance times were recorded. Among them, the Kraskino-Hunchun port had 9,641 clearances, an increase of 87% year-on-year; the Bogorodichny-Suifenhe port had 12,848 clearances, an increase of 50% year-on-year; the Turiy Rog-Mishan port had 2,708 clearances, an increase of 58% year-on-year; the Poltavka-Dongning port had 10,632 clearances, an increase of 24% year-on-year.
According to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs of China, the trade volume between China and Russia from January to April 2023 was 73.148 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 41.3%. Among them, China’s exports to Russia were 33.686 billion US dollars, an increase of 67.2%; China’s imports from Russia were 39.462 billion US dollars, an increase of 24.8%.
On the other hand, based on the first-quarter economic data and market development trends this year, the Russia Exhibition Foundation stated that the total amount of imports in Russia is gradually recovering and may exceed the record level of 2021 by the end of this year, breaking through the goal of 200 billion US dollars by 2024, and is expected to reach 300 billion US dollars.
